Who We Are
MGT Teesside Limited: MGT Teesside Limited is the owner of the TeesREP power plant.
TeesREP is the world’s largest purpose built biomass power plant providing up to 299MW to the UK national
grid, equivalent to around 600,000 homes.
Over 150 people work at the site split between
operations, completions, maintenance and support as well as multiple local suppliers for goods and services.

2010
Original concept development.
2016
Final investment decision to proceed.
2020
Construction through Covid-19 pandemic.
2021
Construction continues, EPC contractor terminated.
2022
Commissioning, Contract for Diberences (CfD) test passed.
2023
Interim refinancing, CfD commences.
2024
Refinancing completed to support long term plant operations.
2025
Remaining commissioning and construction works, px Group appointed as Operator for plant.
